Marketing

Hey,

Let's get straight into it; marketing often requires a large amount of a company's budget preparing audiences and gaining interest and hype in order to attract viewers from across the globe. Marketing has changed somewhat over the years which I'll go into detail about:

Traditional Forms of marketing:
  • Posters
  • Trailers for TV & Cinema
  • Interviews with actors/director (TV& Radio)
  • Articles in newspapers and magazines
  • Merchandise
  • PC/console games
  • Soundtrack release
Modern Forms of marketing:
  • Official site
  • Fan sites
  • Social Networking sites
  • Viral Marketing
  • Access to trailers and interviews
For our thriller, we aimed to use aspects of the traditional forms aswell as more modern forms. We created a film poster to reach out to as many people as possible out in the world. We also created a Facebook page which is a modern form of marketing to share on the internet and increase the amount of viewers who're likely to be interested. Especially considering our thriller's target audience is young adults - most of which have some sort of social media account.

In media economics, synergy is the promotion and sale of a product (and all its versions) through the various subsidiaries of a media conglomerate e.g films, soundtracks or video games.

Despite an ever-expanding array of advertising platforms and sources, consumers around the world still place their highest levels of trust in other consumers, according to a recent global Nielsen internet survey.

"Advertisers around the world are able to reach consumers across an increasingly diverse range of media platforms. Even so, the recommendation of someone else remains the most trusted sources of information when consumers decide which products and services to buy."
