Hey me again,
So onto the final question of my preliminary evaluation: Evaluate your contribution to the group's work.
What did I actually do?
- Well without a doubt I can say that I worked as a team member, as without our group's ability to work with one another we would have surely failed this task.
- When in our planning phase, I contributed to ideas about the storyboard and how we may be able to achieve the effect we wanted to create.
- I also helped plan our schedule when sorting out when we were going to film & edit etc. We had to make sure we left enough time to edit and possibly re-shoot anything in case it didn't turn out the way we wanted anything to, on screen.
- Along with the rest of the group, I contributed towards directing our film so we filmed exactly what we wanted to at the right angles and achieve the right affect when capturing a certain shot.
- Making sure when we edited our footage we captured our groups ideas we had when we originally planned our storyboard to get our final piece just right.
- Worked with a great team of guys who all were willing to work hard and as a group to ensure success when working on this preliminary task.
Flexibility
- Through a team effort we were able to create a brilliant (if I may say so) final preliminary piece. Without the collective team flexibility of being able to bring in the same clothing, book out the correct equipment, turn up to filming times and what not; We would not have been able to produce the piece that we did. So in terms of flexibility, I can confidently say that my team and I were incredibly flexible in order to achieve our maximum potential throughout the project.
What skills have you gained from doing this?
- There were many skills that I improved upon and harnessed during this project, but also gained some new ones; such as working together in a team to democratically steer the film into the direction that we all wanted.
- Come up with ideas and plan an entire short-film piece was a completely brand new skill that I learnt as I have never done anything like this before.
- Putting ideas together to make one big awesome idea weren't easily done in other projects, however with this task it was something that we had to do in order to make our final piece.
- I've never really worked with a team to create something that took so much effort as this; so seeing the final project unveiled before us after hard work as a group, was very cool. Not exactly a skill I would say but a new concept and experience for me.
How well did our group work?
- If you haven't already gathered that I think my group was brilliant, then I'm afraid you're going to have to read the rest of my answer to this question: As we knew each other already it gave my group and I a head start in terms of confidence speaking to one another to convey ideas. We're all very creative and had worked in a team before so merging our ideas was done with ease. Obviously we'd never worked on a project of this magnitude before, so the learning curve was the same for all of us, which Is why I feel we were able to work so well together because we were all learning at the same pace.
- All of our ideas corresponded well with each other and our group's chemistry and cohesion was excellent. There were no troubles during planning, filming or production and as a whole our team was fantastic. I know we're all excited to begin work on our main task because we know that with out team, we can do anything.
